Bremen
A TRADITION OF INNOVATION
»Moin«
In Germany, the federal state of Bremen occupies a singular position, being the only state that consists of two cities: Germany’ smallest federal state is comprised of Bremen and Bremerhaven, two cities that are 60 kilometres apart. The state currently has 676,463 inhabitants. The two exclaves are united by their commitment to tradition and modernism across a wide range of institutions, products and services. As a Hanseatic trading centre, Bremen is home to many big names from the food and spirits sectors. Logistics is a major industry in both cities. The state plays a leading role in research and innovation, including aerospace, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and lightweight construction, hydrogen and marine research. The close proximity of industry and science acts as real innovation driver. But it’s not all work and innovation here: the state offers a great choice of leisure activities, an enviably diverse cultural scene that includes open-air classical music and free outdoor concerts, great museums and science centres. In Bremen and Bremerhaven, both the water and the countryside are never far away. As the story has it, the famous Town Musicians set off because they knew they would be welcomed in Bremen. That hasn’t changed a bit: welcome to Bremen and Bremerhaven!
